Many people consider African spiritual practices to be ineffective because of the widespread poverty on the continent. However, they fail to see that similar dynamics exist within mainstream religious systems all over the world. They also ignore the many reasons why there is so much poverty on the continent. And, they likewise disregard the history and longevity of such systems that have outlived more widely accepted westernized belief systems. There obviously has to be a reason why people throughout the diaspora are embracing these systems in record numbers. In this episode, I take a look at some of the thoughts that are driving questions like these. I also take a deep dive into how we as African spiritualists should respond when attacked by such statements. So join me in this episode to learn more about this topic.
