Divination is a taboo topic in African spirituality. It is probably only second to animal sacrifice when it comes to people misunderstanding and misrepresenting what African Traditional Religion (ATR) is about. However, divination or communication with the spirit realm is at the core of all African spiritual systems. It is one of the key ingredients that makes ATR uniquely distinct from westernized religions. This episode discusses the purpose of divination in African spiritual systems.
